I usually stay away from shooting weddings because I’m ultimately just a photo enthusiast. I never consider myself a pro and I always make sure my clients understand that. I take photos because it genuinely makes me happy, not because I’m trying to make money or sell myself. But when Jessica and Ryan asked me to take pictures of their casual and intimate beach wedding, I couldn’t say no. They seemed like the perfect couple because of their laid back attitude and their willingness to just have fun with it. And they were awesome! Their priority was becoming husband and wife and you could definitely tell. This always makes my job easier when it’s more about them and less about me and the camera.
It’s always interesting to see the look on my clients face when I pull out my little Fujifilm camera. It’s so small, how can it possibly get the job done? I’m behind the camera, thats how! Once I start shooting and showing them my vision, all the hesitation floats away.
This was a sunset photoshoot which means it was time to bring out the speedlites. I’ve already done a couple of reviews of it with the X100s so check it out here and here. Shooting was smooth, relaxed, and fun! Thank you Jessica and Ryan, and congratulations!
